From Trinidad to the World: Starflo’s Journey Through Music and Purpose

Hailing from Arouca, Trinidad and Tobago, Starflo is an artist and producer whose music is deeply influenced by the culture, sounds, and experiences that surround him.
Growing up in a musically inclined family, music became a natural part of his life from an early age. The name Starflo was inspired by his older brother, a Trinidadian rapper known as Trapstar.
“My older brother chose the artist name Trapstar. When I started getting into music, I wanted a name that felt connected to his, so I came up with Starflo.”
Known by many as Lex or Yung Ras through his production work, Starflo draws inspiration from everyday life, relationships, emotions, and personal experiences.
“I’m inspired by anything that can give me an idea. Every thought, every sound, nostalgic feeling, any aspect of life that I can create music.”
For Starflo, music is more than entertainment. It’s a passion, an escape, and a way to connect with people on a deeper level.
“God gave me a talent and I have no qualms using it. I create because I believe music can make people feel understood or maybe even just feel good.”
Influenced by Caribbean music, R&B, Dancehall, and Afrobeats, Starflo continues to develop a sound that is uniquely his own. As both an artist and producer, he remains focused on building a sustainable music career, achieving financial freedom, and inspiring others through his work.
“Music is and has always been something I believe I was born to make. It has been a part of me, and I can’t see myself doing anything else.”
